Less about a Ray Wilkins approach to passing, or even Dean's dating apps, but team spirit in the squad goes from strength-to-strength, whether that is in a game, during a midweek kick-a-bout or at Yoga.
Playing well helps... Winning definitely does... and showering together beneath 4 dripping taps breaks down the barriers like nothing else can.
Banter on WhatsApp, nights out and lending a teammate a hand outside of football has a positive result on the pitch. With a settled squad, everyone is busting a (slimmed down) gut to make themselves available, battling to get on the field of play, but also stepping aside when footballing form or family commitments need more attention. Of course there are disagreements, but some sharp words, the danger of WotW trophy and an apology helps to resolve matters. So whilst The Gaffer can only play 16 in any one game, the wider group are tighter knit than a woollen jumper on a hot wash.

This Saturday, we returned to the hallowed CM6 Colosseum as we came face-to-face with fellow semi-finalist Springfield in our last league game before the May & Baker match.
The Gaffer spent many a moment over his pre-match breakfast working out who to play where. One thing he did not have to worry about is team cohesion as the team sought silverware for the first time in the Club's decade-long history and to return to winning ways after a stuttering draw vs Paringdon. Dave Dawson is away golfing, Gary has had a virus and Si Copper working, so changes were always going to happen.
The game started with Roding on the front foot and some half chances went begging before the most famous ginger grouping since Prince Harry and James Hewitt combined for the first goal with Babs Campbell swinging in a cross for Paul Evitt to volley home from 12 yards. More chances were spurned before some persistent work by Splinters and Lux ended up with Sonic nodding home at the back post.
2-0 at half time and a flurry of subs ensued to break up the rhythm. Evitt released Holly with a searching 50 yard ball to make it 3 and he finished off the game with an individual 4th before full time. Lots of positives, but still areas to work on during this season of progression and our last game before the Semi Final
Special mention goes to Dean, who recovered to make the match after a series of Tinder dates with desperate-to-get-married singletons and exertions as mid-week stint as a part-time Pall Bearer - 4 Weddings and a Funeral in real life!
